Meetings of the Littleborough Historical and Archaeological Society

Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 8 pm (doors open a 7:15 pm) in the History Centre on Platform 2 of Littleborough Station

 

May 14th 2026 Ian Miller gives his annual update on GM Archaeology

July 7th, Travels of a railway boy labourer

 August 13th  Kate Sherry Trouble at Mill Kate describes the history of a typical 19th-century cotton mill using a variety of records, including a mill diary, and provides an insight into life in a cotton mill from both a worker’s and an owner’s perspective.

September 10th  Norman Redhead

October 9th Anne Mealia Todmorden murder - This talk explores some of the well-known murders committed in Todmorden as well as some less well-known cases. Discover a grisly murder with a hatchet and pistols, which kept the nation talking, a serial killer, crimes of passion and tales of revenge and insanity.

November 12th Carole and Nicola Davies ( Title to be confirmed but it’s about Local Soldiers - WW1 remembrance ) 

December Members  Christmas social

Non Members are very welcome to attend

The History Centre is located on Platform 2 of Littleborough Station and is fully accessible via the platform ramp.
